I really think Cole Palmer wouldnt be bad option. Would know how to play Ange's system and hes young would be cheap on loan.

I liked hearing comments about him by the pundits be it positive negative, its just so weird but nice as well.
Hoddle did question will his style of play survive for as he said the SPL is nothing compared to EPL, especially defending, he doesn't think so BUT IMO its just 1 game and how many weeks prior.
F all to mould any team - besides Brentford are no mugs they finished 9th 1point behind spudz and a far better GA - if it wasn't for the Kane goals who knows.

Frank has done a great job with this club and limited budget, I admire his work.
I actually was impressed by the movement out of the back to mids, Brentford condense really quick hard to penetrate hence why Son/Richarlson were out of the game.

I don't spend a lot of time watching the EPL except for the various highlights packages but I did watch last nights match because I have the Optus for the WWC but that was not much chop.

First game of the season, lowly team, new manager and all that BUUUTTTTT, and flame away, I prefer the A League IF it's played in front of good crowds.

Good for Ange and good luck for his season. Will keep an eye on it.

Only criticism I've had with Ange over the years is his inability to make changes to change a game... when Brentford made 3 changes he should of swapped Son for Solomon and Skipp for Lo Celso and get his wingers standing on the touch line the rest of the game no where near enough width against a back 5.

Only saw maybe 5 decent balls across the box for Richie but he needs more service. But yeah movement and passing just way too slow atm. 

Noted that, but TBF the ref was a bit of a knob too.

There's  a Celtic training video where he urges the players to keep moving -them and the ball-and where yells out " Yes!, yes! when they move it on one touch and then We never stop! We NEVER stop!".  T

Tottenham as you say were ponderous on the ball, sideways, backwards even back to the keeper (would have done Ange's nut in)

His Celtic team worked hard to win possession back quickly but then they were required to move it on quickly, one touch if possible, team mates moving off the ball, wingers and full-backs combining with speed to beat their man and provide cut backs and crosses into the box  

Richarilson is copping flack, but the guy was barely give a sniff by Son and Kulusevksi who are no way suitable to play the system like Jota and Maeda were at Celtic.

Ange's Cetic went toe to toe with Ream Madrid ( and could easily have been 2-0 up). They'd beat this Tottenham team.  Kyogo could slot in to this team easily.

Ange's is surveying the lay of the land at the club, he knows he can't yet go mental at the players yet, but there's a reason he's lost more hair in 3 months then he did in the previous ten years.  He has a mountain to climb.

Watch the amount of fouls his team gives away when they lose possesion. Very cynical.

It'll be interesting to see if the refs adjust and hurry things up earlier like Ange suggested. It really highlights those disruptive tactics which a team like Brentford thrives on. They try to slow things down, stay compact in defence and create chances on the counter. It definitely benefits Tottenham to maintain more flow. I'm in two minds because it's good to see different tactics and there is already a big gap between the top teams and the rest. That could widen the gap and at the end of the day what you get the extra stoppage time for. 

11mins at end of 1st half for Spurs match!!!  Some of these games are gonna go for 110-130 minutes as the season rolls on....

Interesting comments at the end of the post match presser about refereeing. Along the lines of the refs needing to hurry up the play early so that there aren't as many stoppages and the game flows better. In response to the large stoppage time minutes.  

if by "static" you mean garbage sideways and backwards :) TBF Brentford were pretty compact, I reckon even flighty squads like Newcastle and Man City will have trouble tucking balls in behind them this year.

Also works both ways. These players think they have seen it all, and if they don’t buy in, they will get him sacked.

That was nowhere near Angeball.  Way too slow, far too many touches on the ball, too static, completely useless wingers.

These players are in for a rude shock if they think that's what Postecoglou expects.
