Get in! A well calculated game I found. Risked bits and pieces poor areas but we'll rectify that when Sainsbury returns. Good experience for Atkinson.
Odd Hrustic mostly at right back. I do wish Boyle in Goodwin could've gotten behind more. Extra cover by narrow Behich hugged Rowles to give him confidence.

+xcheeers fellas, i'm off to get raped by peru now I didn’t even think we’d be in a position to be toyed with by Peru. It’s a single match now. Unlikely but very possible. Stating the bleeding obvious but need to be a lot better than tonight.

Why didnt Mcgree play? He is our x factor and future EPL player and GA leaves him on the bench?
What a miss by Craig Goodwin. If there’s a player who screams A League journeyman its Craig Goodwin. These players can never rise to international level.

Nearly back passed to a UAE forward instead of Ryan in the first half but otherwise not bad.

Very tense game but the boys were the better team in the second half,Boyle and Hrustic took the game to the UAE.Irvine probably his best game for years considering the importance of the game.
Mooy steadied play and released Boyle several times with excellent passes.Atkinson found the pace of Abdullah difficult to deal with but after their goal he kept him much quieter.Leckie did not do much in attack but did press well.
Bring on Peru. They will be a big test but our team showed spirit tonight and defended well.

Boyle..standout Behich, Mooy, Ryan and Irvine all had good games. Atkinson was so exciting a couple years ago...had a very average game today.

Seems the keeper may have had his palms lower than the Hrustic shot anyway. Perfect hit and bit of luck but they all count.

Boyle has been our best player since declaring for Oz. Always makes something happen.

Atkinson got a baptism of fire. In attack not played to his strength at all and then stranded as a defender. By no means is he to be discounted but he could even offer wing role with that bit of extra defensive cover. Goodwin seemed to cover well with Behich who was looking after Rowles. Definitely our right side more exposed tonight. Mooy just survived the 90. The way the game went we didn't need McGree I guess but around 75 it was itchy.

Hrustic was at no point played at a 10 tonight. It was frustrating how often the holes had no one. They followed the plan very carefully it seems. Quite a calculated approach. The conceded goal was bloody silly.

Maclaren managed to get a shot away. He worked we he needed to. Of course Taggart and Sainsbury should be ready by Monday.

I think the behich-rowles left side pairing looked good I don't think behich was looking after rowles, I think they complemented each other well. Any thing leaked through behich's side was pounced on by rowles, and because of this it gave behich confidence to cover the lines.

Decent umpiring today, he got a couple of things wrong but in general let them play and was not a softie like middle eastern refs.
Absolutely no excuses on Tuesday, we have had ideal preparation with full squad in camp for 2 weeks, with increasingly difficult games 3 weeks in a row in the same stadium at the same time. I assume thats better than what Peru have had.
Last 2 games have been as good as could be hopped for under GA. Before I pick Peru to beat us by 4 goals, now thats down to 2.

Stensness didn't look out of place vs Saudi either. I find it weird how complacent a debutante can be yet an experienced one like Wright is all over the place. Jurman was also very calm in the two Honduras games.

Just got up. I’m guessing they were rolling on the ground wasting time for the last five minutes like all middle eastern teams?

+xJust got up. I’m guessing they were rolling on the ground wasting time for the last five minutes like all middle eastern teams? Remember the Asian Cup? Their guy was basically dead with a head injury but ran back on and the ambulance drove on the pitch at ft to take him to hospital :D If they need to play, pain isn't a thing anymore.

Sorry for all the Arnie haters who will have to wait until next week before they can vent their rage and spleen.
