+x+x+x+x+x+xIt's just the usual... we started well but tbe Cows are getting a lions share of "fortuitous" calls. Plus their jersey is too close to ours.. that was a bad blue. At the moment we can at least beat the weaker teams . Need a lot of work now to compete with the good ones. Hopefully the rest of year will be a good run up to 2023. With Reed and Kicks we atleast need Tommo back or another prop. Tommo might be back next game. Definitely would be good to see Thommo playing in a good team . He hasn't had the chance yet and it probably reflected on some of his performances. Kicks and Reed will improve the team . Lucky Barrett isn't there to ruin their careers. I like to think that we might have gone better in the last 6 weeks if we had Tommo. We are certainly short one quality prop, 2 witn Vaughan going. I hope Reed can give the fowards better service. JMK has a great running game and a good long pass, we don't score many trys off short passes from him. Anybody know why we didn’t offer Vaughan another year or two? We are going to miss him. Need more quality props.
If we play the same footy as the last six weeks next year for the whole year. We beat enough sides to make the eight. It’s so simple. But can we do it? I keep forgetting that we have signed Sutton and I don't know much about him. Vaughan might be an issue with money, but I agree that he would be handy to have around. From what I have seen of Sutton, he isn't a metre eater prop with an offload. But with Kicks, RFM and Skelton we might have potent edge running backrowers with Doorey, Topine and Wardell as backup. Sutton, Jackson, King, Tommo and TPJ would play up the middle with Patolo and Seafood as backup. I would still like to have one additional specialist prop who can make the hard yards.

+xI’m always interested… is it the weak gutted or the Dog bit that’s upset everyone???… I don't see why it would, calling any footballer a Dog, means Bulldog which is the greatest compliment a footy player can be paid. Weak gutted might just be a medical opinion. Dr Ricky learnt medicine from Dr Marki.

What the Cows game showed is the secret to making yards is run hard.
Cotter is only around 100kg, but he runs hard everytime and was probably the bench player who turned the game for the Cows.
Topine can hopefully be similar for us.
Guys that run hard every play, make a lot of tackles and don't miss many are like gold.
Kiraz and Schoupp are the same in the backs, then we have Burton, Fox and Averillo for the fancy stuff.
Every player in the team needs to run hard, tackle hard and have a high workrate, or have speed, skill and brains and put the hard running players into gaps.
1-2 players must be good at kicking and the fullback must be good at cleaning up kicks with speed and anticipation.
We tick most of the boxes.

+x+xWe tick most of the boxes. And then leave the form on the desk in the dressing room. Even that game against the Cows we didn't play that bad. A turning point was a dubious inside the 10 penalty against us when Kiraz picked up a loose ball, we were leading 14-12 and might have scored. The Cows scored soon after. I do also think that the Laliua try was 50/50 and might have been called a double movement, his ball carrying arm touched the ground in the field of play with defenders holding him, the slide over was momentum, but the put down was arguably a 2nd effort which may have included a forward reach, overall possibly more a try than not a try but 50/50. I don't think we were that bad, the opposition were just better and overall the Cows deserved to win.

To beat the top sides we need more punch in the forwards and a better halfback.
There is too much kick pressure on Burton becuase he is doing most of the kicks, the odd few kicks Flanno did in that game were good, but overall his kicking game lacks, length, height and placement.
He might be the best we have, but he is no Mortimer, Sherwin, or Thurston, notice those names set up a lot of trys and had a good kicking game.
For this season maybe we are fielding the best side we have. Maybe Flanno will come good, I can't criticize his efforts. I am questioning his talent and skill. Maybe an offseason of kicking practice will do the trick.

I’m sure it came down to the $$$ on offer in SL. But I see him having a short stay in England, I could be wrong, but I reckon he’ll miss the lifestyle, his place at the beach etc & will return for at least another season in the NRL, hopefully with us again as he looks like he’s enjoying his footy.

The old sly dog Dman… after a slow start to the season, the sacking of both his high performance manager & his general manager of football, his supercoach team is firing on all cylinders
How is everyone…. Has the Doc been taking it easy on my mate Dman?

+xBtW your remarks about for and against was totally out ofcontext with the earliet discussion. If you care to resd back we were musing the subject of golden point and why we should get rid of it. Fair enough. I don't mind GP. I know some people do. What I do believe though is that there is no benefit in the F/A points scored, and if teams try to play more GP games because they think there is a benefit, they have serious problems. NRL and broadcasters see it as a moneyspinner just like finals series and dead rubber origins so it's here to stay.

Has the Doc been taking it easy on my mate Dman? The Doc is overseas touring the beaches of southern Europe. Very hot here. Every day. I'm counting down the days to return and play a more active role on the BDP and TK. Right now, I'll just lay back on my beach chair and enjoy a Freddochino....

Dman, I'm sure you are well aware, but in case you missed it, QPR is 1 win and 1 loss to start the season in the English football league.

Very similar to the Fox.
Effort, enthusiasm, desire is what a coach can encourage in players. That’s why the Cows are playing so well. Cotter s a great example of that.
You’re right we have most of the players to go to the next level when we add Kiks and Mahoney next year. Just need to replace Vaughan.

This Stuart thing is wrong. The journos are reporting there is some justification for Stuart based solely on Stuart's side of the story. Given Stuart is under pressure and in damage control and there is nothing from the other side it puts Salmon in a poor light by inuendo. We're talking about 10 year old kids. The NRL are slow learners if the don't realise fines have no effect on Stuart's behaviour

This Papali'i thing with West's. If he backflips the NRL should agree to void the contract, remove the money from the tiger's cap and not register another contract for Papali'i for what was the duration of the contract. Watch players start to honour contracts then. If in November 2021 Papali'i thought that Maguire was certain to see out the three years of the contract I worry about him.

It all just depends on how strongly Wests decide to dig their heels in. He has a contract to play there from next season. He will be there if he wants to get paid unless he can convince Wests otherwise. There really isn't that much more that needs to be said. If Wests decide they don't want a player there that doesn't want to be there then so be it but that call is on them. The NRL wont allow him to play anywhere else (in the NRL) whilst he has a contract with Wests.

Remember when Addo-Carr wanted out of Storm a year early. Storm said no and that was that. At the end of the day I think clubs just have to be prepared to ride it out, play blokes in reserves if need be... the biggest issue is player managers and what leverage they have, ie, other players signed with the same manager.

Can someone please explain to me why in this modern day of LGBTihgfhgg we still call machinery (cars, machines, and in particular ships) as "she"
At what point did they go from bring "it" to she? Why she? Why not he?
Is it cause they break down?
