It’s funny how we seem to have matured as football fans in Australia. There was a long period not too long ago where we would all hate on Pim, Holger, and any underage NT manager for playing directly. Especially during the years of Roarcelona, we would literally regularly complain even after a win, if we played too many long balls.
Now we praise crosses into the box, and are happy when we play to our strengths like our height and physicality.
We’ve slowly, but eventually, learned that national team football is results football, and that the result is all that matters when managers only have their squads for such short periods of time every camp.

+xIf we are serious Segecic should be the next No.10 after Rogic and Hrustic, hes that good for me. Technically excellent but has that creativity and vision which made me think he reminds me of a player in Daniel Pehna when he at the Jets and we know how good he was for them but this time we have Aussie version with Segecic. But we know he's at a club that doesn't often play young players especially when they use him out of position too so this is a concern, I really feel Australian coaches dont give the same responsibility to young Australian players who play in those key positions on the pitch contrast to foreign players who get the benefit of the doubt. Because we have players capable of playing in key creative and forward positions as we seen with Botic recently, but it just that it takes some balls from local coaches to do so which is disappointing. Great comment thanks.

Segecic has been our standout so far, but our next no. 10 for the Socceroos needs to be Volpato. It will be a massive loss if Arnie can't get him over the line to play for us.

Whatever got us the result and shots on goal. Being flexible. No point of having 80% possession and no shot on target

Agree that he's another option as well but what ive seen Segecic should be considered for the Olyroos squad too.

really like the look of Segicic. Hope he at least stays in AL for another season or two and then goes overseas. He has the grit and ability to win games on his own and we dont have many aussie players who can do that.

11 for Qatar seems to follow the majority of best form so far. I So want to go to this world cup. It's in Indonesia across the water. No games in Bali though.
Compared to the big world cup, Asia is the last confederation to end qualifying so we can already see everyone who is there waiting.

+xThat goal Qatar scored was dreadful from us We're looking a lot better now since our goal. I have to say though, after all of the lead up talk about Triantis before the tournament, he's been fairly ordinary. I was expecting a hell of a lot more from him.

Australia needs to move away from these traditional number 9s, we have so many fast skilled wing forwards and we put a slow man up top most tournaments.
angeball imo. Kyogo like players.

Been busy in class. Wow good to see a comeback after going down. Always feel we crumble when conceding but this is a good show. Keep it up.

Donnell has been industrious and a great find. Listed as a defender but isn't he in central mid? Can tackle, score and cross. We're so stacked that guys like O'Neill and Thurgate will likely never play for Australia but their waves of form wouldn't see them out of place as a squad reserve. Still, stacked to hell.

Very good performance so far, some miss passes, but general play very quick & skillful, bit of luck could've had a couple more, while they have not really create any chances since their goal.
