+xFair start… Their try off a forward pass… Looked it. Just so many forward passes get missed. Until they get the ball tracker technology they won’t get it right. I can live with it until then.
If Burto gets his head straight in this second half we can win this.

The pilchards last try was the result of a foreward pass in the lead up, so I am glad he missed the kick. Yeah we bombed a few tries....our bad I guess. In their first try I thought the pilchards missed the goal but the score somehow included the goal? Strange one.

A couple of poor decisions away from winning that game by 13+…

Big difference with Kiks and Sexy… Knight was good… TPJ very strong… Kiraz again one of our best… Wilson has plenty about him…
Avo very very good, but nothing Critter or Taffe won’t be able to emulate or better…
Id have preferred Flanno stayed on the bench… Hoping he drops out next week…
Still too many dumb penalties…

He is a great general and runs deep into the line. Very good decision making and kicking game. I was filthy when we didn’t sign him long term when he was a kid.

Great to have a win.
We can built on this, still lots of things that can be improved.

Flanno finished the game with-2 fantasy points, has any other player finished with a negative score?

Good to finally get a win. We made it harder than it ever should have been and in the end had to rely on a conversion to get over the line, not to mention a couple of back-to-back dubious rulings with Isaako's try and Wilson's try.
IMO Sexy's pass was fair (although contentious) but I think we got lucky with the ref ruling Burton was obstructed. Those can go either way and we finally got them go our way.
For some reason, many players this year making a break are putting boot to ball instead of just drawing the fullback and passing to support. It's not just us, I'm seeing it with other teams too and although it looks more spectacular, I'm not convinced it has a higher success rate.
We should just draw and pass 90% of the time and only kick if the support player points to the posts or something.
Anyway, I was most impressed with the variety of play today. Hope the bye doesn't send us backwards as I'm hoping we can build on this kind of result.

The cricket overnight was brilliant . Star of the series is the crappy pommy weather.
Followed by the poms ability to whinge, becuase they don't understand the rules they wrote.
A draw is as good as a win for us, but only the weather or the Aussies can win it from here

There is only one thing an Aussie can do during the Ashes and that is hate the Poms...with a passion. The fact is they prepared wickets which were there to last in case they had to chase a total in the 4th and that is going to probably bite them in the arse. The Aussies also had the worst of conditions...bowled to the Poms in bright sunny weather but when it came to bat it clouded over and the clouds came progressively lower. Still anybody's contest. The rain yesterday came when we were having them look dispirited. It would be great if 6 was needed off the last ball and Todd "Gilchrist" was on strike. Never saw those sixes coming. If it rains again and the weather stops the Aussies winning I wonder what Piers Dickhead will say.

Tommo and Pele played the last reserve grade game.
Allamotti, Skeleton, Hughes, Patolo , Okunbor and Morrin didn't.
Winning reserve grade wasn't a priority I am sure most of those guys are injury free, but some might still be recovering from the flu.
RFM should be back after the bye.
We will have most of the squad available for selection, too late to do anything this season.
Still seems like more players coming for 2024.

With the exception of Thommo and maybe Hughes I don’t know if any of those players listed make us a better Team…
