I'm a little bit conflicted.

On one hand they originally claimed they were gong to be a football specific stadium. So that has gone out the window.

On the other hand, having a tenant that wants to play out of their stadium gives them a little more credibility (and more pressure to finish the stadium build). And from a MVFC point of view, one less pitch destroying tenant at AAMI Park is a good thing.

I have also heard they are trying to get the Phoenix NBL team to relocate and play out of the basketball stadium they are building in the Ironbark Fields precinct..

Zero chance of Phoenix relocating. They are flying and are backed by Hawthorn FC.

Once the ground is completed it'll look pretty good. Ideal for the A League. A good thing about smaller grounds is it can create a sense of urgency to get tickets rather than the big big grounds. Still, I hope availability adjustments are made (commonly like in Germany due to large demand) if Victory need an entire end and a corner. With all policing and security adjustments as well of course.

Who will coach this great club if JA does move on? I'd pick Hayden Fox to lead them to another title.
When the larger Stadium comes along as well this might be the best club in Australia, in time. Cannot be denied as most would agree.

Rumour is Foxe is set to get the head coach gig at another club next season. It's not clear yet which club. Might even be for a NST club.

Shame about the Rebels. Would have been a nice earner for Western in a leasing arrangement.

Spoke to an insider at a dinner last night. They have already started renting out the venue for certain things. Had a national gridiron championship there a couple of weekends ago with 1000 people in attendance, and are looking to sign an agreement with school sport Australia to use the ground on an ongoing basis for their high end matches.

Its a revenue stream no other club has. It might not move the needle just yet but its a smart play.

Are Western United able to rent out the ground?  I thought it was owned by Wyndham Council.

It is. Western United are a tenant just like the thousands of other clubs that play out of council owned venues.
That being said, depending on their contract with the council, it is possible WU are able to rent out the facilities, albeit unlikely. It's more likely that the council are able to rent out the facility when WU are not using it.

So it’s a revenue stream for the council not Western United. Mind you if the hiring fees quoted are the same for a league games it would be the cheapest ground hire of all clubs, I would think.

Fairly certain (can't source it easily) that
  1. WU are Head Tenants for the 2 grass pitches, so can sublet those
  2. The 3rd pitch is Artificial and available for Community Hire

If we are talking about A-League clubs, then certainly. However, it's not really a like-for-like comparison. It's a training pitch with one small stand, temp seats and basic facilities. It's not a stadium. It's a bit like saying a small one-bedroom flat in a shitty suburb is cheaper to rent than a massive house in a nice suburb.

‘Cheaters, scammers and a bank forgery’:
The Kaminksi Group takeover of Kortrijk that happened,

https://onefootball.com/en/news/cheaters-scammers-and-a-bank-forgery-the-kaminksi-group-takeover-of-kortrijk-that-happened-then-didnt-happen-37800039

Even after a press conference in which the owners were presented to the media and fans, Kortrijk will remain in the hands of Tan despite his desire to sell.
The group presented Tan with a bank guarantee for the transfer of the money, yet sources from within the club told Sporza that they believe that this was in fact a forgery.
Those within the club have also labeled the father and son as cheaters and scammers because of how they went about the whole affair.

Greek Shipwreck.

Panetolikos F.C.

The Announcement of new owners then disappearance of KAM

Of particular interest, however, is the response of the major shareholder of the Agrinio team, regarding the team's administration and the negotiations with the Kaminski family, which, as everything shows, led to a final shipwreck.

For now, you won't miss me from Greek football.
There are things missing from the agreement with the buyers.
They haven't shown any signs of life for over 4 weeks, so I feel like this case ends here

https://www.agriniopress.gr/kostoylas-gia-kaminski-niotho-pos-ayti-i-ypothesi-teleionei-edo/

when approached by Sporza said ‘We don’t want to talk about it. Not just with you, but with nobody’.

KAM Sports LLC was set up in Las Vegas for the Multi-club venture (echoes of 777 ?)

It seems to be dead now

They've got a website thats still functions.    https://www.kamsportsllc.com/

Only thing on it is their vision statement

Here's the Full Word Salad in case it dissapears

OUR VISION

KAM Sports is a family-owned organization that owns and manages premier international sports assets.
The Kaminski family started and grew a successful real estate business with a singular vision: to realize long-term value.
From the first real estate investment, we have always tried to find value where others have not - identifying compelling assets and leveraging our methodical, proven approach to realize the investment's full potential.
We are proud that our commitment to capturing value also translates to the communities themselves, whether it's bringing a fresh set of eyes to expand established properties or taking on projects in areas that others may have passed over.
In real estate, as in sports, nothing happens overnight.
It takes a consistent, focused, and long-term view in order to achieve the vision.
Our investment in sports properties reflects the same approach we have taken for our entire portfolio, regardless of size or brand awareness: identify assets we believe have high upside, make the necessary investments, and then operate them with a disciplined and strategic perspective to drive sustained success.
As athletes and avid fans ourselves, we understand the special responsibility we have as owners and stewards of sporting properties, and we look forward to working tirelessly on behalf of the fans to achieve success.

Everton Bid June 2022

Looks like Western United and Melbourne Victory have something in common apart from stupid names

Former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon is fronting a bid on behalf of the US-based Kaminski family and billionaire mining and investment magnate John Thornton, with the US consortium now in a period of exclusivity with current Everton owner Farhad Moshiri over taking control of the club.

No-one expects the Spanish acquisition

Kaminski's turn up at Atletico Madrids Head quarters during Sale speculation
Peter Kenyon (see Everton effort) is a known link in the chain

Out of Character, there were no premature emissions from the Polish wankers

According to sources consulted, the Polish magnate is considering both buying the club and becoming a shareholder, a transaction in which other investors could also participate and which could result in a reversal of control of the Colchoneros, as this media outlet has already reported .
Thursday's meeting was the first direct meeting between Kaminski and the Colchoneros' largest shareholder .
In response to questions from this outlet, neither party had made any official comments by press time.

If you're not getting paid, how do you pay your own bills

One option

Two men, including a Western United footballer, will face court for their involvement in an alleged betting scandal surrounding the A-League Men's soccer season.

Detectives from the Victoria Police Sporting Integrity Intelligence Unit charged a 24-year-old West Melbourne man and a 27-year-old Kingsville man on Sunday with numerous offences including use of corrupt conduct for betting purposes.

Both were bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on July 31.

While the individuals are yet to be publicly named, it is understood one of the men is a player at Western United and the other is a state leagues player.

The Australian Professional Leagues, who run the A-League competitions, confirmed a player had been charged.

"The Australian Professional Leagues is aware that one A-League player has been charged by Victorian Police with offences related to gambling," a spokesperson said.

The West Melbourne man has been charged with 10 offences.

They include
  1. engaging in conduct that corrupts or would corrupt a betting outcome of an event or event contingency (x4),
  2. facilitating conduct that corrupts or would corrupt a betting outcome of an event or event contingency (x4),
  3. use of corrupt conduct information for betting purposes and
  4. attempting to commit an indictable offence.

Danzaki booked twice in the period in Question, managed 10 charges
Maybe he tried to get booked at other times ?

. Police allege four matches in April and May 2025 were the subject of "player to be carded" wagering manipulation.

AFL agent turned soccer boss’ legal and tax troubles threaten Western United rescue deal

Former top AFL player agent turned A-League boss Jason Sourasis is fighting a series of business battles that could scupper a rescue deal for his financially embattled club Western United, which has been late paying player wages again.

The Age can reveal that Sourasis has been hit with a near $3 million personal tax bill via a director penalty notice from the ATO for unpaid taxes across six of his businesses, including the companies underpinning the A-League finalists.
