I hate international windows. They seem to come around just when my squad is just about injury free. The national teams need to take better care of my players. My world class striker, and the only one that I have that can score goals, has come back with a long term injury the last 10 times he has played for Portugal. He somehow is still my top goalscorer with 12 goals having only played 6 of the 16 games so far. Both my fullbacks and my attacking mid also always come back from Brazil injured.

Started a new save as Spurs. Three games into the preseason, beat Hamilton 5-0, Reading 6-0 and San Jose 5-1.

Made three signings so far: Fabrice Muamba for £5.25m, Toby Alderweireld for £4.4m and Ruben Yttergard Jenssen for £3m.

Looking to ship out a few players, namely Kranjcar, Gomes, Corluka, Van der Vaart and Bassong.

Playing a 4-2-3-1 at the moment, set up like this:

I have the same problem. Twice I lost Pato on international duty (he still scored 17 from 22 when he was fit) and Marek Hamsik and Jordan Henderson spent more time recovering from injuries on international duty than playing football.

Lost in the play-off final :(

I went into the last round equal with Man City and equal goal difference ahead on goals scored. I beat 2-0 Arsenal 2-0 but an Aguero hattrick for City meant they finished first.

Probably wouldn't have won by any more but for some fucked up reason my left winger and reserve striker couldn't play because they were travelling to a World Cup qualifier that was in a week and a half.

has anyone ever had an error trying to open the game. It comes up saying,

"Game is currently unavailable, please try again later"

Yeah. It's fucking annoying. Not much you can do about it. Try restarting the computer and internet.

Log out of steam and then log back in again.

Euro 2016...Playing with England, so far I've just completed the group stage and walloped all comers. 4-0 win over Israel, 3-1 win over Spain, 3-0 win over Denmark...

The group gets even better than that though. Spain drew with Denmark in their opener, and after losing to me while Israel won against Denmark they then had a must-win clash with Israel in the third game to go through...Despite having 29 shots on goal to 2 and 67% possession, Israel clung to a 0-0 draw and Spain are out at the group stage.

Either this or just restarting Steam seems to do the trick.

Or just go onto your steam library, right click FM12, click properties, then Local files at the top, then click verify games cache, let it do it's things. Then reload FM and it works :)

European championship final v Russia, Gerrard scores the opener after 5 minutes and we hold the lead until added time at the end of the first half when referee Cakir Cunyet awards Russia a penalty, I thought "that's a bit c*ntey".

Every time the Germany manager changes they appoint some U18 kid with 0 caps to his name as captain. WTF?

Started a save with United. Going to reshape the squad.For starters, sold off Park and Berbatov and signed Forrest and Eriksen.

Played 10 games, won 8, drawn 1 and lost 1, sitting 5 points clear already. Played 3 champions league games, 14 goals scored, none against, AC Milan in the group also and just beat City in the league cup 1/4 final then 6-1 in the league 3 days later. Cruising.

EDIT: That 6-1 win over City saw Mancini get the boot :lol:

I dunno why this keeps happening, but every pre-season I like to tour a country and play 3 games there...and for some reason for the third game a bunch of players come up as ineligible...Is this a bug or what?

This fucking game

So im managing australia. Im organising friendlies, I try to organise a friendly vs South Africa at Suncorp, but it just wont pick Suncorp, it picks everywhere else but Suncorp. I keep cancelling and re arranging the firendly to no avail. So im like "fuck this"

i then arrange a friendly vs USA and Ireland and they both get arranged for Suncorp. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

It's a shame you can't designate the venue for the various games...

Starting to get those feelings again, the cravings for some FM action. Probably going to jump back in to my old save, and just leave Athletic, start somewhere fresh.

Feel the need for some fresh tactics too. Anyone ever used 3 at the back before? Reading some stuff on the SI Tactics forum, seems the Match Engine just can't replicate how a 3 CB line of defence should work, but people have had some success with a LB,CB,RB setup, so might give it a go.

I know, it doesnt even sound like something that is hard to be out in to the game.

Any one on here Completed the pentagon challange ?

Yeah, I'm not sure why three at the back doesn't work, but it's very very easy to beat teams with 3 at the back in FM. The central defenders have no lateral movement.

From the reading I've done, it's because the current Match Engine can't handle a tactic that requires a formation shift from possession to non possession. They need to bring back the drag and arrows.

Yeah, I don't know why we've been lacking this concept for so long. But yeah, the lateral movement when out of possession is what causes the problems.

But then there are teams who consistently line up 3-4-3 in saves (like Genoa) who perform well in the league, etc. and then fall apart when they play you. Which suggests inconsistencies in the AI.
