Peter Siddle is easily the most important bowler in Australian cricket. He might not be the best or most talented, but he puts it in the right areas and can bowl as many overs as a spinner and still be fresh.

Now he has a Michelle after getting Prior from a really poor shot. What a man

Bell looked solid all innings, but got a decent ball and is out. Bairstow hasn't played a convincing shot all innings.

It's the way cricket works sometimes.

Siddle. Fucking man beast. Opening spell was rusty, but his second spell he's been solid as granite.

Our bowling as a whole though, is yet to exactly inspire. We've bowled too poorly IMO. One ball will be good, the other will be shocking. Agree with Afro we've bowled a few too many extras. A lot more balls going down leg side then what I'd say we'd normally bowl.

England though haven't looked exactly solid. There's something for both sides in this pitch. Batting first was a smart desicion, as I think if this pitch dries out any more it's just going to deteriorate worse and worse. I think England will do well with a first innings score of about 325. With the last couple of wickets falling quickly, England now into the lower order will do well to get there. Cudos to Australia for restricting Englands highest score to 48.

With every wicket that falls, I'm growing more and more terrified of what Anderson will do to us.

God dammit Siddle. Now I want to wait up for the start of the Aussie innings :p

Anderson isn't their entire bowling line-up. Swann will do some damage too.

His one major downside. :p

Not that worried about Anderson tbh. He bowls well no matter what the conditions. Watson plays him well, and they all know what to expect from him. I'm far more worried about Swann, conditions suit, we have plenty of left handers and we can't practice against top class spinners because we don't have any. The one up side is that Swann doesn't have a good record at this ground
