Hope so, he's a great player. I think we may have seen the last of Patch Adams for this season unfortunately

Looking at the run home, it's hard not to see Adelaide winning the minor premiership with a run in of Brisbane, Dogs and GCS. whereas Collingwood and Sydney both have at least one tricky fixture with Swans still having to play Hawthorn, and Collingwood have to face West Coast who have been brilliant against us as of late.

Quote:AFL again denies tanking exists DateAugust 17, 2012 - 5:38PM .AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou has again stated he doesn't believe teams have deliberately lost matches to gain draft concessions, despite the current investigation into allegations against Melbourne. The issue flared again recently when former Demons player Brock McLean, now playing for Carlton, said he left Melbourne because of so-called "tanking". It has been alleged the Demons were coached in a way to ensure they finished low enough on the AFL ladder to secure top draft picks for the following season. The probe is being headed by integrity officer Brett Clothier and the AFL Commission will determine any penalty should a case be proven. "I understand Brett has conducted several interviews and has got more to complete, and we'll await the outcome of that report," Demetriou told Fairfax Radio on Friday. "I've said all along that I don't believe tanking exists .... I've said already that if I'm proven wrong, then so be it." But he agreed tanking was one of the most serious accusations that could be levelled at an AFL club and the commission would have to become involved if evidence were found. "Anything that affects the integrity of the competition, we put in that basket," he said. "Things like the salary cap, we put in that basket, performance-enhancing drugs, we put in that basket things that relate to betting scandals, information sharing and of course tanking if that exists," he said. Clothier's report will go to AFL operations manager Adrian Anderson who will decide whether there is sufficient evidence to send the matter to the commission. Demetriou said there was no timeframe for the investigation. "I think it's more important, regardless of time, to get it right," he said. It bothers me that a guy who said "clubs paying agents for players is a no-no" as the explanation of the AFL's prohibition of player agent fees in free agency is the man leading this 'investigation'.

Thank you North Melbourne and Brisbane. This is the closest race for the minor premiership I can remember in a while.

Dockers and Eagles could meet in finals:D
Good to see North Melbourne in finals, feel sorry for some of the clubs who have spent years and years at the bottom.

Edited by glory recruit: 20/8/2012 06:04:03 PM North haven't "spent years" down the bottom. They've been mid-table a lot. Three years in a row at 9th. It's going to be a great end to the season. Especially if North, West Coast and Hawthorn win this weekend.

Watched the Marngrook footy show tonight, was on ABC2 at 8:45 thought it was quite a well put together AFL show, with an Aboriginal Australian base.
Definitely work trying to watch.

Definitely work trying to watch. It's actually quite popular in the footy community from what I've seen. Never watched it myself, but all I ever hear is positive.

How would Collingwood fans feel about Malthouse at the Blues? A fantastic coach for them gone to their bitter rivals.

Its pretty much confirmed he's gone, one report I read said 'emergency' press conference so make of that what you will.
And to answer Benjo's question... knowing Collingwood fans they will have a massive whinge. Eddie won't be happy though  Only himself to blame!

Carlton should be persisting with Ratten for another season. The club was on the up and things haven't gone their way with suspensions and injuries this season. If next season was another dud season then it's time to make a move.
