afromanGT wrote:When was the last time Storm went 3 weeks without a win? Be good to know - I heard this morn prior to the last 3 no wins was a 14match win streak. Storm had 70% possesion 2nd half incl golden point time, manly making 82 more tackles, pens way in favour to storm, 3 storm tries player held up so as no ball grounding. What a grinding draw by our lads as mentioned. Roar B - yer look I understand the business decision, as I mentioned the nrl and later ch9 are more so to blame putting this on national tv whilst kids etc are watching. Young waterhouse is more so being picked due to the recent Singo/Mummy/Johns etc soap opera.

Yeah wouldn't be worried about Melbourne. I wouldn't be surprised to see them have a couple of drops in form this year. Their star players have to play so much footy, especially starting the year over in England. Wayne Bennett has always believed in doing a period of intensive training just after the origin period to ensure players are at peak fitness for the finals, even if its at the sacrifice of results. Bellamy has definitely taken that down to Melbourne with him.

Looks like Granville will get another game. \:d/ Played out of his skin when he came on. Really love the way how he gets out of dummy half. Much better than Andrew McCullough :-&
Nice to see Kemp on the extended list as well. Was one of my favourite players a couple of years ago.

Terrible game last night. Only a handful of players wanting to put their body on the line.

Have to say I did enjoy Sam Kasiano murdering Casey Norman  That's what happens when you run across field.
Thought it was by far Barba's best game so far, looked the best he has in attack and looked back to his best defensively with a couple of try savers

I have always thought wallace just isn't good enough tbh - he's a tough little bugga just as most HB's are but he gets swarmed alot or when needed he comes up short. Anyway I agree take the $$. sydcro yes barba certainly held his own that 1st half, saved a certain try and delivered at the other end. Good on the tiges they needed that ! Haha dragons - penrith must be wondering why soward ! Well the chooks have spoken - will their form hold when it matters come finals time, we shall see. Good and needed win by my eagles - needed this after the last weeks of hard top games, look forward to players getting back from injury/suspension we are solid thats for sure. Fark what can you say of the eels, great they took it out to mudgee but a cake walk for the titans. Warriors were always going to put on a show after the previous drubbing, nights hot and cold. Good game tonight me hope, stand up sharkies that bunny pack won't stop battering.

Pretty happy with the NSW team named last night, happier than I have been in a few years. Only problem is why the fuck Kurt Gidley, I have literally no idea what purpose he serves being in the team.

I could understand picking him if you weren't sure about your hooker playing 90 mins in Origin, but not when your hooker is Robbie Farah. I just don't get it  Although I have enjoyed seeing Souths fans crying over Blake Ferguson getting in ahead of Merritt.

Courier mail leak maroons SOO game 1 team. The Courier Mail are claiming to have got their on the Maroons team for the Origin opener ahead of the official announcement tonight at 6.30pm! In the leaked line-up, Ben Te'o has been named despite being at the centre of an NRL inquiry, while Roosters prop Martin Kennedy will make his Origin debut on the bench. Darius Boyd's place in Origin is in doubt following an injury he got against the Warriors yesterday. If that is the case, Wendell Sailor has called Storm winger Will Chambers would be the man to replace him. Maroons Team 1. Billy Slater 2. Darius Boyd 3. Greg Inglis 4. Justin Hodges 5. Brent Tate 6. Johnathan Thurston 7. Cooper Cronk 8. Matt Scott 9. Cameron Smith © 10. David Shillington 11. Nate Myles 12. Sam Thaiday 13. Ashley Harrison Interchange 14. Ben Te'o 15. Matt Gillet 16. Martin Kennedy 17. Corey Parker http://www.b105.com.au/newsfeed-b105/queensland-maroons-team-for-state-of-origin-game-1-leaked-includes-debutant-martin-kennedy/

I think he's a good player. He's just steady nothing to flashy but does nothing wrong. But at the moment we need someone with a little flair in the halves. We should let him go and promote Hunt to halfback. While bringing over Tomkins from the UK at five eighth. This would be my spine for next season. 1: Hoffman. 6: Tomkins. 7: Hunt. 9: Granville. Should still have enough cash to bring in either a quality outside back or foward.

Thats what I was saying LOL...doesn't create/flair enough, you got enough forward power for a HB to capiltilise on the space or momentum push.

sydneycroatia58 wrote:Gidley ruled out of Origin 1. Thank the fucking lord. I think it's a huge blow. I've hated Gidley being in the team in the past, but I think playing 9 regularly has showed that his fitness and directness make him one of the better hookers in the comp. he wouldn't of replaced Farrah, but likely come on for a second rower and we would of played with two hookers, and Maloney, Pearce, Hayne, Lewis and Bird playing really tight and fast through the middle. I think it would of worked well.

Good on the sharkies knocking off the bunnies. Agree what they have got away with is done, although it still hurts to see GI a Maroon when he should be a blue, but this story about Mal Meninga trying to get Blake Ferguson is hilarious  Although what pisses me off the most is how some QLD fans insist on calling themselves underdogs and that NSW are favourites

Haha I reckon the label was there in previous years because they kept picking the same old geriatrics to represent QLD and it only *just* got us over the line to win the series. -PB
