+x+xshovel ready..... surprised the shovels didn't rust in the boot of the car for these last 3 years..... excited to see the dirt haul road in 3 or 4 months once completed and paid for by Wyndham council, Better hurry up,if they want the Werribee Wembley to be a training camp for a visiting women's world cup squad in 2023.. The fact they're claiming the haul road being paid for by them shows how much they hoodwinked everyone. I'm hearing actual figure was closer to 1600 through the gate last night

+x+x+xSomething positive to go against the negative bitterness of the FTBL forum. WU have passed 8,000 members. I imagine this would put them around the middle of the pack. Sure, their memberships are cheap and many Victory/City fans have probably bought WU memberships to get cheap tix when playing away to them. But 8,000 isn’t anything to sneeze at. Its also interesting to see that after giving people giving them so much shit for having 3,000 at their home game against Perth 2 weeks, ago… City got 4,000 last night and crickets. Sounds like the sort of made up membership number the Giants bandy around We need WU to define the term MEMBERSHIPS. This is definitely not season ticket holders. And there were people taking the piss out of the Melb City last night. All clubs count any/all membership types in their membership tallies. So a 3-game membership is no different from a full-season membership. It would be nice to see a breakdown of types for each club, but that is never gonna happen. Last season WU were giving away free 3-game memberships and I am pretty sure they did the same this season. Pretty easy to get good numbers when you are giving something away for free. It's no different than the early days of MV, when they were regularly getting 30k+ at Etihad. There were free tickets everywhere. I remember going to every MV home game in 08/09 season without paying a cent.

I'd be interested to know the fully paid up season ticket holders. Is imagine would be around 1000 for WU. Maybe about 30-60% of "total memberships" for each club ??

I draw the line at people becoming "members" after having bought a ticket to one game, or worse still, having gained entry to that one game for nothing.

Is there any evidence they are counted? I would like to see a breakdown of membership types as well but it’s not gonna happen. Mind you, the AL isn’t the only league that does this. The AFL are notorious for doing this. That’s why teams like Richmond claim to have 100,000 members. +xHahahahahahahahahahahahahah Nice one. Is there any evidence they are counted? They would absolutely be counting free memberships. All MV members were given a free 3-game membership this season to give away to a friend. A mate of mine only signed up for a 3-game membership this season and even he got an extra free 3-game membership to give away. He just signed up the free one in his wife's name so now he can use the extra tickets (his wife has zero interest in football). In his case it works out to be $15 per game as well as an extra scarf.

I'm just looking forward to some joyful posting on here if/when they do pull the plug, other than that how will it really effect my life either way if these fraudsters fold or not? Their financial well being is directly impacting the APL and every team in it so you would be more likely to utter the immortal lines "A strong WU is good for the game" and "We cant afford for WU to fail" or even "When they build their stadium they will be the only club in Australia to have done so.... neat" hahahahhaha For me, apart from despising the deceitfulness if how they were awarded a license and the fact that they hoodwinked the sport I love just to get a cheap land deal and in one foul stroke just shat on ALL of Victorian football, Im not really too fussed either way. I just enjoy pointing out the plastic lunacy. Tell you what, because I can see it bothers you, how about I promise to lay off this thread for good if they are still up and running a year from now AND have at least poured more than two trucks full of concrete on the site of their stadium - not the haul roads, not the shopping centre, not the streets and footpaths for the housing estate, not the 5k training pitch but the ACTUAL 15k stadium - December 2022 will be 4 years since being awarded a license, If they were really a football club that was 100% honest in its tender bid then that is reasonable enough time frame wouldn't you say? 4 years? Or Do you want an extra year 5 years perhaps?.... maybe 10? What is the time frame for you to admit its all a scam? Just curious?

You just have to ask the big Macca's down the road if they'll let you sell your burgers at their place until you build your own place. Then you could ask the Hungry Jacks in say Geelong, Ballarat and Hobart if you can sell your burgers at their place for a while. You could even try asking the Souvlaki joint down south if they'll let you sell your burgers at their place. However, be warned I hear they have a bit of a stubborn reputation. Maybe if you just advertise your menu at the souvlaki joint they won't mind too much and let you use it anyway. You could also try the nearby cevapi joint, but they always want something really big in return so probably not worth it. See plenty of options.

WU do look solid so far though. Aloisi and Foxx have them playing a brand that is hard to break down. That Lacroix in particular is a huge CB, yet quick enough and posesses a good pass. Most of them like Riso and Dia are showing good early season form as well.

They won't fold. They'll do a heart. And then finally have their stadium In the near future and then be bought out You don't buy a McDonald's franchise were there are two other ones and the locals are mainly vegetarians :) Of course you do. Hahahahah thank you, thank you JC, this made my day.....

Waiting on government to approve funding for a local train station, when the other mob have promised a new stadium in Dandenong if they are elected?...... hmm I know who I'm voting for..... Glad the farmers cashed in at the peak of the market, f#ck the greedy developers, hope they remain paddocks forever. Meanwhile, a leisurely 5 min stroll from an existing ( not just a half finished haul road) stadium at Lakeside, a state of the art train station is sprining to life before our very eyes...... taaaaadaaaaaaaa https://mobile.twitter.com/9NewsMelb/status/1481528906654130176

That ever reliable source of truth the "Herald Sun" is reporting the sporting complex will be complete sometime in 2023.... Its taken from a the Real estate section of the paper... https://www.realestate.com.au/news/farmers-nextdoor-to-future-western-united-home-ground-collect-200m-in-tarneit/?rsf=syn:news:nca:news:spa:strapIn part copied from the article... Construction started on the Western United sporting precinct last year and when complete, its main venue, to be known as Wyndham City Stadium, will host up to 15,000 fans. A training stadium will be able to accommodate 5000. There also plans to build 1000 homes as part of that development being run by Western Melbourne Group, who are the backers of the A-League team. Western United entered the nation’s top soccer code in 2019 and currently plays home games in Geelong and Ballarat. The sporting precinct is expected to be completed in 2023.
