+x+xLarge scale developments? Then why am I stuck in one lane traffic. If you sell the land to developers, it might be an idea to expand the roads and improve public transport. I really hope the suburban loop happens this term. That would be great because the traffic is no longer centralised. The problem with Werribee, Tarneit, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Wyndhamvale, Williams Landing, Truganina, etc, is that the developers and council got greedy by building housing estates at the expense of road infrastructure. its a complete clusterfuck that will take years to untangle (if it can be untangled). Correction. Wyndham council has no control over roads in estates. That's the developers role now. Council only has control over roads which vicroads has control over

You combine their cash + the community engagement and buy in from Team 11 - they would be a serious player.

+x+xI thought WSW fans were all ex SFC fans :) Exactly ;) We were doing shit and you guys were winning heaps. Those who did swap would have ben far less inclined if Wanderers were sitting 10th and we were 1st. Not saying many wouldnt have anyway but being a winning new thing does make a club look trendy and help attract fans. Glad those floppers have gone back to you now :)

I wonder if any of the FFA due diligence work will ever be public.

That parcel of land was/is worth a mint.

Horvat was on the footbald podcast today saying they’re very close to signing a second marquee, saying the player would be an ‘incredible coup’ for the club and the competition. Guess we’ll see who it is if it happens.
Murray Shaw knows who it is, said it’s a very big name and could be one of the best players, if not the best, to play in the league.

RvP?
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

They were going to use the vacant land next to the train station, where the old cattle yards used to be.

Fact check in that the prime land for the Team 11 stadium right next to the Dandenong station was granted to the team for free by Dandenong council, just like the land for Western United's stadium was by Wyndham, the only difference was that nobody had the clams for the stadium itself. The good news is that the council is keeping the land in reserve for a stadium for Team 11 if they get up in future.

So far, the strategy is no one new and the recycling bin is just bigger.

+xSo far, the strategy is no one new and the recycling bin is just bigger. That’s a short sighted way of looking at things I feel. Some of these players that haven’t got game time and have come through academies. This is the entire purpose of expansion, giving players who currently can not get into the first team at their current club opportunities to develop. The young players that WU have signed so far are largely those who have had limited opportunities, but certainly do have the potential to take the next step. As the league expands, more opportunities will open up on the squads of clubs, which in a few years will hopefully broaden the talent pool and reduce the need to sign 30 yo players at their 4th or 5th HAL club. Early in the piece though WU did appear to say they wouldn’t raid the MC or MV academies though :)

Their announcement tomorrow will be a double signing according to Jim. This guy would surely be one of the players.

I’m still waiting to hear about these ‘fan’ forums they talked about.
I know the urgency is greater for WU, but MSWS have been fat and away a better outfit so far. They have developed and deployed a strategy that builds the club from the base, whereas WU seems to be the top down approach. Didn’t work for MH, and won’t here either if they don’t lift their game.
i like their squad, but it’s silence on anything else.

Signing of Connor Pain and Joshua Cavallo.
Connor Pain was discussed a while back as a likely signing.
