+x+xAlso confirmed that we will have the ACL playoff spot for next season. Wouldnt you just have a qualifying spot? Perth and Sydney get the auto two for being 1/2 and in the GF. -PB

That’s for the season after. As it stands we still have 2+1 for this year.

Yeah the rankings are applied every second year, I think they do the same in the European version too.

Really doesn't mention the awful results in the ACL which were perhaps most disappointing of all.

His list of outs is pretty interesting too: Going?Lawrence Thomas, Kosta Barbarouses, James Troisi, Georg Niedermeier, James Donachie, Raul Baena. Aware of Troisi being linked to WSW marquee, Neidermeier underwhelmed and Donachie and Baena loans expiring. But the ones that surprise me are Thomas and Barbarouses. Whats been mentioned there? And I thought it was an unwritten Victory rule to always have two of Troisi, Barbarouses and Rojas so I assume Rojas back soon?

Thomas wants to have a crack overseas, he;s the right age to go over there and have a good shot at making it.
Kosta similar, but with a baby on the way might just take the most money offered locally on the east coast.

Rumour is that Thomas is heading overseas (probably somewhere in Asia). Kosta has had a solid season, so obviously his value has increased. MV may not be able to meet his value within the cap and may need to let him go if they don't won't to designate him as a marquee. WUFC has an extra $400k in the cap next season and could very easily outbid MV. He has said he is also keen to test himself overseas if there is a good offer on the table.

If Kosta can a decent bit more money at WUFC he would be stupid not to consider it.

I think Kosta wants to stay and will stay. he's just posturing for more money. and he deserves it. will bautheac come as marquee? if not, Kosta might get an upgrade.

Nah no way Bautheac will be a marquee.
I've said it elsewhere before, but we should really just offer Kosta the same type of backloaded contract as Troisi.
2019-20 under the cap 2020-21 Marquee
Leaves us a free marquee spot this season and (best case scenario) with the HAL clubs in charge the cap will be raised or gone by 20/21.

For Vuck's Sake on twitter: "Very early whispers, but we have it on good authority that Kevin Muscat will leave Melbourne Victory via mutual termination. Also hearing that a journeymen manager has been sounded out to replace him already. More to come on that soon." https://twitter.com/ForVucksSake/status/1129191549051387904?s=19

"Journeyman manager" in my opinion doesn't sound too promising.
Maybe I'm wrong though. We'll see soon enough what is happening.

I thought the same thing, but apparently he was on really big bucks at brisbane. he'd have to take a serious haircut if he was joining us under the cap.
as for Kosta, yeah i've mentioned something similar in regards to a backloaded contract. makes perfect sense.
+x[quote]I am praying to God it isnt Aloisi he's the first name that comes to mind when they say the word "Journeyman." and he was gonna be Kev's assistant before he landed the Roar gig. Personally, I think Aloisi is a better coach that many make him out to be, but I'd still prefer someone with a much better pedigree.
