Local government's spokeswoman Kate Roffey said clearly that Wyndham Council along with WU will pay for it.
The concept is called,,,,wait for it...'Value Capture.' It will be another building company, there are many out there in Victoria!
So much ignorance and negativity around the place. I hope people are ok out there.

Thats only the building company. It needs to be paid for and that is Local gov and WU. Don't care who builds it. If Probuild have issues it will be someone else, Bo build.

Fair enough.... maybe this "unbundling" will lead to other builders jumping on board?

True, I don't have an issue with WU, rather, I hope another tier of football opens up sooner rather than later and other teams can help propel this League forward.

Yes, we've all heard the catchphrase "value capture", Roffey mentioned on the very day that WU was accepted into the A-League, a bit over 2 years ago.
It's still not evidence of Wyndham Council funding the construction of the stadium (beyond the granting of the land).

Over two years ago then hey. The 'value capture' program was first mentioned after it was successfully voted upon, on 26 Nov 20, Not two years ago.
The project was to start in the first half of this year so they haven't fallen behind as yet. If they do, then they'll deserve to be criticised, all the parties mentioned.

Its actually been nearly 26 months since they where awarded the license and looks like the essential infrastructure you seek may now be years away

No, Roffey first mentioned it in the first presser she gave after WU won the license over two years ago.

It's pretty clear now that there was never going to be a stadium. In any case other sport the success of the WU franchise would never be a major scandal, with media all over over it

I can't believe that those involved are getting away from with it.

Well, it might slow things down if there are no access roads for construction equipment, I mean, it's not as if you can build a stadium with a bobcat and ride-on mower.

No the Western Wembley will be special, you will be able to get there via drone and tbey dont need more than the 2 lane Sayers rd running outside their weed filled patch of dirt because their 5 thousand members are going to build the thing by hand.....

Look everyone knows this is ultimately about hate by all the excluded supporters from former NSL. May as well hate Macarthur fc as well.
One says red so the other says blue, one says up so the other will say down..it is obvious ajitating.
Regardless of any splitting of hairs, the project was to start this year, can't criticise a team whilst still on track. There was alot of red tape to plough through at the very beginning.
They part own another club now as well via the Apl. Going great would one say? Thriving even.
Looked like a good capped crowd today, WU have a very good team although some brilliance from young gun Colakovski got City up.
Mind you, with the disapprovals by posters due to the excluded clubs, like mine too, who is listening to anyone here anyway? The FA and Apl have measures in place and are not moving left or right from them.
It is evident that it falls on deaf ears when it comes to supporters of excluded monoethnic clubs that its easy to then turn the attention to maming new clubs. Its not their faults for bidding and being preferred, keep in mind they also paid a motza to gain entry. That tells you that they simply belong, in the A League.
Direct your energies more realistically to the new headquarters, take supporters and protest. South Sydney did in a big way including a march in the City and they actually gained entry back into the NRL, in early 2000's.

Take ur complaining and protest to bring ur club back! Just sitting in a comforzone and not being pro-active hasn't brought them back.
You and some others keep fukn complaining about anything to do with WU! Why?
It's Lowy's vision that fukd you all  over. Yes, WU did state their intentions around two years ago but then, they go swimming through
the red tape to bring it to life, that Stadium business.
Quality of the comp has been great, look at the star power at WU considering the economic situation. Ex NSL players totally support the comp, they don't death ride it and they want it to  thrive because its Australian.

Couldn’t agree more that the endless negativity from the same people over and over gets tiring fast.

We all want to see them follow through and build this stadium and training base, but just sitting there constantly  whinging Is just a step too far.

I know some want to see them fail to say I told you so, along with a myriad of other agendas that some keep pushing at every turn. The reality is the game has its faults by the amount of power plays and agendas in motion at every opportunity just rips the game apart.

Let’s hope they build it soon and can finally silence those doubters.

Mate, lets say that WU and a Newy or Mariners fall over, do they realise who comes in next? It will be in any order, Canberra (Capital Region), Football Tasmania, S/E Qld, another team from Adelaide because they support their teams in any weather.
Actually, if Mariners ever failed, Manly Utd could well come in because they want to join a Second Div and they are 45 mins from Central Coast so they can get supporters from there as well.

Back from where? My club never left matey. Its been around for 60 years and I'm sure will still be around long after I'm gone...  We applied 3 times to obtain a license and were passed up 3 times for "anyone but Hellas FC" so if you think anyone is going to protest/beg to be let in your dreaming pal.
Star power? Quality of the comp? Hahahah are you being serious? I watched the last 20mins of ABCs coverage of wsw vs hakoa omfg thats NPL but slightly faster... same shit skills, terrible game awareness, poor referring and the players....,, Ibini and that mullet guy Grant are actual socceroos? FMD.....  If I wanted quality there are 50-60 better leagues than aleague in the world to watch. I follow my club regardless of what they put on the pitch and am never happy with it win loose or draw...
As for yourself AND ex NSL players suporting Western United and wanting them to succeed, who gives a f#ck? They, more than any other plastic franchise, are a cancer on the sport of soccer in this country.  Bury you're head in the sand if you want and pretend that they're a bunch of football mad investors over there that won't stop funding the team the very minute they sell the first tranche of low quality, high density, urban slum housing.
