+x+x+xJust checked: Yes, this thread is titled "Ange to Celtic" Do Mods have any interest in keeping a thread on course? ... "Original Perth Glory" 🤣🤣🤣 As someone who has lived in the "original Perth" (wife was born are raised in Perth), I cannae see many locals voting to replace the name of St. Johnstone – PERIOD!!! Let alone to the "Original Perth Glory" or "Perth Glory Originals". 🤢🤮😅 Saint Johnstone's name has a lot of historical relevance to Perth, and shock horror I know, but their are those who value history 😲 I went to watch Celtic vs St Johnstone in Perth back in 2014 and I'd say 85% of the 4-5k crowd were Celtic fans. Sounds like the club may need a re-brand 😁

+x+x+xJust checked: Yes, this thread is titled "Ange to Celtic" Do Mods have any interest in keeping a thread on course? No mate, these are all perfectly valid points of discussion. It is crucial, VITAL in fact, in Australian soccer to discuss the ancestry and religion of board members ,fans and players of a soccer club. Posters on here are just concerned that the Scottish Premier League (where now a Greek Australian coach is making waves) is becoming just like the dirty old ethnic NSL .... maybe they need a few teams shunted out of the top flight and some fresh new franchises wedged in ... "Original Perth Glory" or "Aberdeen Atomics" anyone? You're the original Mr Shoehorn. Just keeping it real homie.... Wouldn't want you to get offended by all the Irish flags and chants involving the word "Celtic" that would bring back some pretty horrifying flashbacks to the bad old days of NSL eh?

Then added up the "votes". My bad. Sorry. I'm still learning.

The pubs are seen by some as a better option. St. Johnstone has a solid fan base, just like most of the smaller cities, towns and/or regions. They are a lot more noticeable around town when they are playing Dundee or Dundee Utd.

Yeah it was in a swampy lowland sort of area from recollection. well out of the city centre too Reminded me a bit of Shark park here in Cronulla. Cute ground but needs a facelift. Was balmy Scottish summers evening, so around 15 degrees or so😉

Yep, so Asda could be built. Muirton is such a lovely part of Perth too (*not) ie – not the type of place you would want to be out walking alone at night. As for McDiarmid Park, the land was donated to the Club so the stadium could be built. As for money, St. Johnstone are a really well run club. One of the few who have for some time been making a profit year on year (small profit, but a profit all the same). But yes, if they were serious about updating the stadium they will need some coin to do so.

+xThe biggest shock is that of Ralston. I never knew he had a twin brother who could play football ,and somehow switched places with him. I have been pleasantly surprised with his form so far this season. With all that said, we still need to add another RB to the playing squad. 'Celtic have agreed a £2.5m fee to sign right-back Josip Juranovic from Legia Warsaw. The clubs reached an agreement on Tuesday evening, and Juranovic is keen on the move to Parkhead, although the last details of the deal and personal terms for the player are yet to be finalised.'

Hopefully he signs and isn't a flop🤞 We desperately need so couple of decent fullbacks, otherwise we will struggle defensively once again. We cannae have a repeat of last season's defensive issues. We really missed Jullien last season, and so far this season. Hopefully he gets over his injury sooner rather than later.

Juranović is class, I remember watching him play a lot for Hajduk over the years, and I [along with a lot of other fans] was devastated when he left the club to go play in Poland. Legia offered him a lot more money than what Hajduk could, whilst they were also far more likely to feature in European competitions than Hajduk were too. You'd be getting a fullback that is very good defensively, whilst he has the engine to get up and down the touchline relentlessly for 90-minutes, and his crossing is pretty damn good too. Just don't expect him to score!
He was also quite good when called upon for Croatia in the recent Euros, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's the first choice RB for them moving forward.

To all the euro snobtards that said Sainsbury isn't good enough for celtic... I've now watched the new CB Starfelts first 6 games and can conclude that Sainsbury would not only start ahead of him (particularly in this system) but is better than him defensively and is street's, no postcodes ahead of him footballing wise!
That Welsh is turning into a very good defender though! When Jullien is back he and Welsh will start, Starfelt and Bitton as backups.

Anyone noticed rogic doesn't seem to lope up and down as much anymore?! It's as if someone has gotten into him about it and is now more efficient in his running

So 5 in a row for Ange now...big pressure is off him for now Yeah agree, Starfelt is just not improving, turning out a poor signing Another solid performance by Rogic too

Some Celtic fans saying a left back is needed. Couldn't think of many more suitable than Behich given his club situation and Ange history.

I must say I'm surprised at how quickly and efficiently Ange has managed leave his mark on the team. I thought it'd take 6 months minimum to have them passing the ball around like they have. Hats off.

+xFair to say sentiment has turned regards Ange's appointment by reading their forum over at talkceltic. Quite a few of them are impressed. True, fans and players alike are praising Ange but they are a wickedly fickle mob and will turn in a heartbeat. A loss on Saturday and the hounds will be barking again. That said, it is clear to all that Angeball works and that he can turn around players others had written off as useless or not good enough for Celtic, such as Ralston. Even the enthusiasm Christie has shown and the big striker has been noted by many. I am concerned that needing to essentially start the same XI in a packed schedule every game might lead to fatigue or a few knocks and this might lead to a loss or two and the mob calling for blood again. But good on Ange for efforts so far and good on the players for embracing his directions and philosophy. AZ are no pork chops, so a good measure on top of a run of wins!
