Poor Ange.... with 20-30 mins to go he looks behind him to the bench and ....... crickets....  They were bright at times but wasteful in front of goal... Was  fairly entertaining match though, could have been 2-3 legitimate goals in the first 5-6 minutes....  Lo Celso played well, Johnson gave up the ball too easily as for Udogies final pass...... wtf? turn over after turn over.... Kulu startedc entrally but you can tell he just wants to play wide from the right all the time... Bentencour was feeding him through nicely but the injury changed the shape and cost the match in my oppinion... Poro was solid again.... Ange needs players!!!!!!! Next weekend is going to be a bloodbath.

BTW, I was pissing myself this morning every time it showed the little dude McGinn from Villa... hahhah for some reason his forehead was very very very shiny and the perfectly straight hairline looked artificail.. lol dont know why but it seemed really funny at the time.

Only caught the highlights but saw Villa have multiple free headers in the box.

Woeful defending. Lucky they weren't punished more.

Such a great game but yeh, lack of options. They were much better this time around compared to the Wolves game. Didn't deserve to lose.

There's a pattern of injuries emerging when he arrives at a new club.  It happened at Celtic when he had to play youth team players in Europe, and its happening here again.  Some is bad luck but some is also bad management. I think its the way he manages the ramp up in physical intensity of his players both in training and in games when he comes, its too much too quick.

That could well happen. but then a couple of lesser teams and then transfer widow opens. They definitely need more bodies.

should of been 2 or 3-0 after 30 mins. Klu and Son missed sitters.

Completely played thru at times... Lo Celso was poor defensively and gave the ball away alot. Him and bentacaur did their job early playing those through balls should of been over at half time.

After a unbeaten start in the first 10 games, the last 3 the football gods have been against Spurs and Ange.

This sport eh?

For me Matty Cash should've been sent off for that challenge, injuring Spurs best player in the first half ruined their momentum.

Then the second half Martinez pulled off some great saves and Villa took their chances.

And now they got Man City next with a depleted squad, it would get any easier with no luck on their side.

Reduced bench for Spurs and two keepers. I guess Ange wouldn't throw any academy player on. Good to see some of the reserves out there to see if there's some buy in to the system.

He should have used Donely instead of Skipp, apparently hes quite decent for their u21 team as a creative midfielder.

yep thats it.....
Same questions were asked early Klopp days.
Ange's game is no rocket science imo pretty much whats been played by countless EPL teams the last 8yrs at least.
Recall people going on about Klopp and our high fully charged press - some injuries occurred but what do you expect (well barring spurs have no europe games) 2 cup games/europe and league something got to give incl the training and the other one is, some players just keep suffering injuries others just don't and excell.

Yes Barca this game, never count the chickens till they've hatched.
He had a good run those 10, not a bad draw And all his needed start up players.
Maddison out till Jan at least gonna hurt more than any others imo, been the key creative player.

Don't think so. Performances have been mostly excellent, can't help injuries, red cards and suspensions. You really can't blame the manager for that. If they were playing god awful then there's an argument, but thought they comprehensively outplayed Villa. Just shit luck at the moment. He had a similar bad run at Celtic in the early but eventually came good.

He can gradually build up the physical intensity rather than go to 110% from the first game of the season?

He can be more pragmatic and less idealistic.  No shame in having regard to the context he finds himself in.

He gave up 3 points against Wolves for no good reason other than his principles.

Every fan wants to play shexshy football, but they all dump him if they're bottom half come Christmas.

No he can't. Players get injured, it happens. It's just shit luck. Nothing to do with training intensity. Do you even know what his training regime is? How do you know he doesn't build up?

Regardless of results, Ange has a free pass at the moment. When half your staring team is injured or suspended, you get a free pass. That's just how it is.

Don't agree with this. His rationale is if you start compromising on your principles, it will spread like fungus, and soon you'll compromise on everything. You'll soon compromise depending on the opposition, the weather, who's injured, who's suspended, if you're home or away, if you're playing day or night. Soon you'll find yourself like every other manager that comprises, inconsistent yo-yo results and out of a job. If you want consistent results then you need to play
consistently.

If they are bottom half come Christmas then all bets are off agreed.... If Spurs are still within top 6-8 he will get at least another transfer window.... I think he will get a free pass because, as Rusty said above:

A) its a re-build "project"
B) fans have almost complete buy in to style
C) Everyone can see there is no depth and injuries/suspensions have stung
D) I dont think any other manager would want to touch the "poisoned chalace" after Ange ... at least at the oment.

There's plenty of online information about how much harder he works the players physically, even from him.

https://www.espn.com.au/football/story/_/id/38488517/ange-postecoglou-tottenham-impact-premier-league

etc
etc
etc.

Celtic couldn't even field a senior starting eleven not long after he got there.  Every Tottenham game the players come out at 110% and struggle to hang on for the last 20 minutes because they're gassed.

There's no such thing as a free pass in the EPL.

I don't wish the worst for Ange whatsoever but this is EPL and no matter re build no matter any other curve ball re injuries suspensions this comp is performance driven, about $$$$$$$'s and pecking orders.
IF they are mid table expect the unexpected thats the league for some.
Board members always get the heebeegeebees no matter the spin spat out to the press.
United been a good project post Fergi to date.
Look at Chelsea last 2 seasons with all the $$$'s spent, even Poch would be looking over his shoulder already, Tuchel was pitched even with the success he gained.
For a little while Howe was getting shaky just recently.
Window or no window its a ticking time bomb in the EPL - for some a land mine.
After the window and players back I expect he to get them back up the ladder, how far anyones guess at this stage but damn its gonna be a ride..

Why would that happen?  You're compromising because you have a growing injury list and the replacement you have are not up to the job.  No club has squad of 26 first team players that substitute seamlessly.  Adjusting to the situation is being flexible and being flexible is a sign of a mature manager.

Mate, that is not true. How many games have Tottenham won in the last 10+ minutes? Only looked gassed in the last two due to amount of changes/new starters.

Maybe not seamlessly but Id argue the "big 6" all have a complete second 11 that could at least be competitive in the league if they needed them...
