+x+x+x+x+x+xHahahahaha no, I know ita ll a bit of a fizzle I just got a little carried away because I like Atalanta :) When is Sth Melb announcing their intention Mono? Hahahahah tell me about it mate???? Farkin typical Greeks, always late. :) and not suprised it will come for sure but I'm wondering re SU58. Anyone who’s been a long term fan of this sport in this country knows that the club has always had its fair share of …less than gentlemanly fans. But it really would be a shame imo if they did indeed miss out of the NSD. Let’s be honest, in many ways they’re probably one of the main clubs the concept of the second division is built around, at their best they have a lot to offer the league. Always strong on the field, a great track record of producing players, great club owned facilities, a large and loyal fan base, history. ofcourse i understand that the headlines surrounding the club of late are less than ideal publicity, and if they are selected, there will be awkward questions to answer from certain sections of the media, which isn’t really ideal when you’re trying to launch a new competition. Im sure the fa do want them, as do I, I think they league would be better with Sydney United involved, they’ve just been put in an awkward position. Ahh the joys of strayan sokkah.
agreed, they'd be a great addition here here fellas they are a must for me though I'm sure they will be read the riot act and something hung over them.

+x+x+x+x+x+xEOI Submitted list CONFIRMED ONLY 1. Gold Coast Knights 2. Sunshine Coast 3. Peninsular Power 4. Sydney Olympic 5. Brisbane Olympic 6. Rockdale Illinden 7. Preston Lions 8. A.P.I.A Leichhardt Looks like we've got a NSW/QLD league. I was expecting a VIC/NSW centric league. I would be happy with that. We only need genuine contenders, don’t need clubs pushing their own agendas.. Football Australia needs to show that it is the one controlling the direction of football in this country. Lucky to be one genuine contender there from QLD. From what I can tell. Has Sydney Olympic got a permanent home ground now or will it be a change every year like their NSL days?? Immortalized by the TWG Olympic caravan. Haha they play out of belmore sports ground these days, as they did towards the end of the NSL. obviously they don’t own the place, but I’m fairly certain the have some kind of long term lease. They train next door I think. Pretty ideal NSD venue in my opinion I used to drive past it often a few years back and it looked pretty run down then. christ mate you've driven or know about so many NPL Clubs from way back - be it Melb/Syd/Bris by posts, whats your background and who did you support back in the day :PAs Glenardo mentioned eslewhere, Marconi started some clean up, fresh paint etc, I'm sure SO will paint it fresh Blue/White for next season mind you I'm just there for the granstand seating as per last few seasons Cup games we're great as was the souv :) . Belmore is hardly used by the Dogs for quite sometime, I see R3 they are at Belmore this season and thats it most so called home games at Stadium Australia which is Homebush and funnily 1 home fixture at Suncorp lol

+x+x+xGlenardo, what was this all about. I have been told it was deleted later. President’s Message A warm welcome to all our Sponsors, Members and Supporters, who I have no doubt would have turned up in big numbers for today’s vitally important clash v Marconi Stallions. Obviously, it has been a great start to the Season, but caution must prevail, as this is the longest season ever, with 25 matches remaining. With such a long season, squad depth and numbers are vitally important, and in this instance I note the loss of Jason Romero, which is disappointing, but I wish him all the very best moving forward. What is absolutely amazing, at this stage, but yet to be officially confirmed we are unable to replace Jason, until the window opens in June, in essence nine (9) weeks before the end of the season. It is simply amazing and defies belief, that as you all now, Jason has moved to MacArthur, who like other A-League Clubs have a youth team playing in the NPL 1 Competition. One would think, that an A-League Club would source an injury replacement from within the ranks of their very own youth league team. What is the point of the A-League Clubs bothering to have a youth league team, and what is even more fascinating, is why would an emerging young talent bother wasting their time playing in a youth team within the A-League set up. The 3 or 4 strikers within the MacArthur youth teams, it is astonishing that they have not simply packed their bags and walked away from the Club, after being embarrassed by their very own Club. Because the purpose of they’re being there, and playing at that Club, is so that they get the opportunity to move into the A-League squad. And, then when the opportunity arises for MacArthur to elevate one of their youth players into their first team squad, but as such, they have been ignored, they have been discarded. So, again I repeat, and I ask these youth players, why do they bother remaining in such a set up. Moving forward with this message, at the time of writing, the Club has submitted our Expression of Interest on Friday for the National Second Division. We have also commenced preparations for our annual Festival of Football v Sydney Olympic and this year we are the host Club. More exciting details to follow in coming weeks. Next year will be the Club’s 70th Birthday Anniversary and major event are currently in the planning stages. To highlight and to commence the festivities and in our lead up to our 70th Birthday celebrations, in our last match of the season this year, our first grade Men and Women’s squads will be playing in the identical playing strip that was used by the Club in 1954. In closing, thank you to our supporters in attendance today, and also today’s Ball Boys – U14s Youth Boys for being so kind to help and ensure that the Club complies with proper match day regulations. Their commitment and attendance are more appreciated than they know. Once again, kind thanks to all our Season Pass Holders. Haha this is the first I’m seeing this. Was that on APIAs social media? Or was it an email to their members? Reads very much like the ramblings of Tony Raciti, who as I noted in the NPL thread, speaks very much from the heart and not so much from the head haha. He sure is a character That's definitely Tony. Heh. Tony has a rhetorical bent because he knows as well as the rest of us do that Macarthur's "youth" side the Northbridge Bulls or whatever they are this week are a fucking joke. Responding to Glenardo as well, yes TR is the unique heart on his sleeve type of guy, you name it he has quoted many polarising comments but yer you can forgive him due to his devoted APIA passion through many many hard times......its a credit the place kept going during some very dark times Thankfully pretty good now. Maybe someone else would have portrayed the more professional approach but without types like he where would some Clubs be. His gripe that many agree with is just this quoted long ago........ "that the current system is flawed. We appreciate we're a feeder club, but we have three contracted players who are trialling with A-League clubs in the middle of our season. If we stop them trialling, we are perceived as being obstructive", Raciti says. FORZA APIA - tbh I'm supporting all Clubs pitching for the NST and make the FPT stages and beyound, VIVA heartland football clubs that get to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

A.P.I.A Leichhardt 9. Brisbane City 10. Canberra Croatia Haha love that. One of the more humorous announcements thus far. Btw Heidelberg were another club that were in dire straits a few years ago, relegated, couldn’t pay their players at one point, under 18 forfeiting games due to lack of players etc but they’ve pulled it back are now looking like one of the stronger clubs at npl level, and likely one of the strongest bids to get back onto the national stage via the NSD. Good on em At one point you say?? That is downplaying it. There is a long track record of this from NSL day through to VPL. They were well known for not paying players in Vic football circles. Promising at start of season, and not delivering by halfway. Even mention of some players getting paid before they played to sign there. Good to see they have finally got their act together.

+x+x11 is surely enough bids to avoid a champions league format Not home and hosed yet but a real nst is looking almost certain They're EOI's only. They'd have to be checked and you'd imagine a few will get turfed for creative accountancy. You'll need at least 20 and select the best 12 or 14. Not even. An EOI response is nothing. It's the RFP phase that matters. Let's say the FA receive 30 EOI responses. They would then want to shortlist at least 20 of them. They then ask those 20 to submit a proposal and pay their $25k bond. This is where the hard work is. Anyone can pay $5k and submit an EOI response. Putting together a coherent and appealing proposal is no small task. Only then do we hope the FA has at least 10 suitable (ideally more) clubs to start a proper league.
