With respect I disagree. City are doing very well in comparison to last season and should be happy with the progress. It's almost 3k up.

And while Perth stands out as an improvement, Adelaide, Brisbane and CCM are all making modest gains.

MV will hopefully lift a bit more after the derby game. Then if everything else remains on track it's only the Nix that are a real worry.

Perth and City the only teams experiencing any growth. Great to see Glory getting some more members on board, would be great for them to hit 8k before christmas. Hopefully Brisbane doesn't continue to be an off-field basket case and we can get their numbers back up over 10k. Sydney FC, should be doing so much better than this. Some use the crowd figures as an excuse, but realistically their membership numbers should be up around 20k, 15k minimum. Disappointed only an extra 2k for City, but maybe that will increase depending on Timmys performances. Wellington....who knows what to do there. They need a significantly smaller stadium, even a 15k would do them for now, even though it wouldn't qualify. They should have explored running a temporary stadium in Hutt or wherever they played that match with the temporary grandstands.

Not sure if u are understanding the stats.
The figures for each team from previous years is the total for the season. The fact that even two clubs already have higher totals than the full season last year by rd 1 is awesome! The total figure by rd 1 is on par with our record season two years ago when everything was going sweetly on and off the field is very telling. If just brisbane manages to get their shit in order we'd easily have smashed our membership record.

Many members last night in Brisbane had been double ticketed or allocated wrong seats. One of the guys in our row had wrong seat allocated, another who couldn't attend had been allocated in a different bay and could not get through on the phone friday and when we arrived there was two people smack bang in the middle of our members seats who had been given incorrect tickets. Not the greatest start on the membership front!

Sydney memberships to surely get a 2-3k bump this week. Last night was almost like a trial game for all supporters on the fence of a membership. If they buy now they are no worse off as it was an away game and from what you saw last night.... wow.

Scary to think you have ibini to come back in as well.

Great result for City to get 10k, baby steps everybody.

Melbourne sides combined almost have 35k memberships in total at the start of the season.

Email from CEO Grant Meyer:

After the successes of last season and the positivity surrounding our squad and off-field achievements, it’s finally time for the football to begin.
As it stands, we have already officially surpassed our membership tally from last season of 8,750 – a terrific feat. This time last season we had 7,380 members, while we currently have 8,759.
This is an 18.7 per cent increase in membership, which is simply outstanding!
Our focus now turns to achieving our target of 10,500 members. This is a benchmark that we are eager to reach and one that will help in ensuring the further stability and support this club deserves.
Win, lose or draw you won’t be disappointed with the match day experience at Coopers Stadium. There is nothing like it. So get on board with the Reds and join our family as a member!
am also looking forward to answering any questions you may havewhen I jump on the AUFC Twitter on Thursday from 1pm. Tweet me your queriesusing #AUFCTalk.

8,911 now - Growing well... should be well over 9k after the weekend. A big late push from them, and they should go close to hitting their target, which is fantastic.

Over 9k per their CEO. New record will now 100% be set... potentially after the weekend's game at the current rate. Only 600 off.

A great surge by Adelaide and Wellington. Brisbane the only one that struggled to pick up members this past week. Strange considering their home game last Friday against Victory and their late equaliser.

We've cracked 100k and despite a bit of an all round slow down this week we are still on track to beat 110K+ depending how the next few weeks go. Memberships will continue to be sold for another month or so I reckon so if we can continue to build roughly 2k - 3k per week we should get very close to breaking our record. And if Brisbane weren't going through the shit they have gone through we would probably already be at around 112k already.

Yeah, don't get Brisbane Roar either, anyone would think there's a membership boycott going on or something lol ....

C'mon, do you really think a 1-1 draw would get fans to say "f*ck this, what was I thinking, better buy a membership"???

Hyundai A-League memberships hit 100k!

Friday, 14 October 2016 - Staff writer
The boom in popularity of the Hyundai A-League continues with news the league has surpassed the 100,000 mark for memberships across all ten clubs.

Across the Hyundai A-League, 70% of clubs are ahead of where they were this time last season, while both Melbourne City and Western Sydney Wanderers have surpassed their totals for last year.

The total number to date is 100,339 memberships for season 2016/17 with Melbourne Victory leading the table on 24,356, followed by Western Sydney Wanderers on 18,673.

As we say, ‘You’ve Gotta Have A Team’.

Davo has a more up to date tally.

Yeah, but I'm just posting the A-League's data for posterity and point of reference. Davo is compiling the stats from the A-League but also via the varying numbers provided by clubs.

Also, I plan to compare to this point in previous seasons and will do so next post infact.

A visual reference or copy, as the A-League site's previous numbers don't remain, so we have that original source to refer to. But I get your point and have just double-checked, don't mean to share duplicated or redundant info. I've only just seen that Tambo shared a copy of the same updated table just earlier, so I'll take note to avoid duplication in-future.

GloryPerth I don't mind what you are doing at all. Davo does a great job and is second to none, but his point of references are in total amount and per round 1. If you want to offer point of reference as at round 2, 3 etc than go for it. I'm interested in it!

GloryPerth I don't mind what you are doing at all. Davo does a great job and is second to none, but his point of references are in total amount and per round 1. If you want to offer point of reference as at round 2, 3 etc than go for it. I'm interested in it!

Thanks Tambo. tbitm, Davo, Clinton, Midfielder, You, I and others have been doing this for a few seasons now and the data we all provide and collate has contributed to Davo's table. With the league reaching the 100k milestone and closing in on it's record, re-reading the old threads reminds me to compare the numbers to other measures that Davo's table doesn't cover. Like the Jets membership record is prior to his measures, 11,007 in season 2012/13 and it's interesting to see that a table of the existing membership records of ALL the clubs together, sees a total of some 120k. :o And the clubs' individual 'Targets' and/or 'Club Records' (Where there are no Targets) collated amount to a figure of some 130k or so! :o To avoid confusion with Davo's table I may post some of these in a few days. And just going through Davo's tables and this other data, we see both how well some are doing comparable to other seasons, but also how other clubs have been affected by the poor on-field performances from last season (SFC, Mariners, Jets - even Victory a little) and too in Roar's case, their ownership turmoil ofcourse. It's still a shock just how quickly Roar arised during the early Bakrie era (Sky-rocketing towards 13k members, then CEO Sean Dobson revising the target ever upwards from 10k to 15k) and how quickly they have since dropped - a clear reflection of member disaffection and how bad reputation and fan distrust can take time to repair. Thankfully it seems their new CEO, Mark Kingsman, may finally be starting to right that ship.
